Getting started

Tenfold is a Mac app for running Claude Code agents side by side. This page takes you from the download to your first agent.

What you need

  • A Mac with macOS 26 or later.
  • Claude Code, with a Claude plan or an API key.

Each session is Claude Code running in a real terminal, signed in with your own account. Tenfold doesn’t sit between you and Claude.

Install

  1. Download Tenfold from the download page. The file is Tenfold.dmg.
  2. Open the DMG from your Downloads folder.
  3. Drag Tenfold onto the Applications folder in the window that opens.
  4. Open Tenfold from Applications.

Tenfold doesn’t ask for Accessibility, Screen Recording or Full Disk Access.

The first-run setup

The first time you open Tenfold, a short setup grows out of the notch. It takes about a minute.

  1. Your agents. Tenfold looks for Claude Code in your login shell’s PATH and the usual install folders. If it can’t find it, it shows the install command. Run it in any terminal, then check again.
  2. Hooks. Tenfold asks whether it can install hooks so it can follow your agents. They only report from agents started in Tenfold. See What Tenfold changes in your setup for the details.
  3. Terminal colors. Pick a color scheme. You can change it later in Settings, under Appearance.
  4. The shortcut. Choose how to open Tenfold from anywhere. The default is ⌥Space.
  5. The trial. Start your free trial, or sign in if you already subscribe.

You can run the setup again from Settings: open the General page and choose Run setup again.

Start your first agent

There are two places to start one.

In the notch. Hover the notch, then click it to open the panel. With no session running, it shows the launcher. Pick Claude Code, browse to your project folder, and press ↩.

In the Workspace. Press ⌘D in the panel to open the Workspace window, then press ⌘N for a new agent. Choose:

  • Agent: Claude Code.
  • Repository: the folder the agent starts in.
  • Where it works: the current checkout, or a new worktree on its own branch. See Parallel agents.
  • First prompt: what the agent should do first. Leave it empty to start at its prompt.

Press ⌘↩ to launch. The session shows up in every layout and in the notch.

The free trial

You start the trial in the app, in the last step of the setup. A card is needed, and nothing is charged until day 14. Cancel any time before then to pay nothing. Each Mac gets one trial.

Until the trial starts, Tenfold stays locked and opens on the license screen. For plans, moving between Macs and cancelling, see Account and billing.
