Tenfold can’t find Claude Code
Tenfold runs the claude command you already have. A Mac app doesn’t inherit your terminal’s PATH, so Tenfold asks your login shell where claude is. If that finds nothing, it checks the usual install folders:
~/.local/bin~/.claude/local/opt/homebrew/bin/usr/local/bin~/.npm-global/bin~/.bun/bin
The first-run setup also looks in ~/.volta/bin and in nvm’s Node versions.
To check what Tenfold sees, run this in Terminal. It should print a path:
zsh -lc 'command -v claude'
Use your own shell in place of zsh if it’s different. If nothing prints, install Claude Code or add its folder to the PATH your login shell sets. If Claude Code isn’t installed yet, the setup shows the install command to run. Then open Settings, choose Run setup again on the General page, and let it look again.
Sessions start in your login shell and run claude there, so if claude works in a new Terminal window, it should work in Tenfold.
My agents don’t show up in the notch
Tenfold only follows agents it starts, each in its own terminal inside the app. Sessions you start in another terminal don’t show up.
For agents started in Tenfold:
- Open Settings and go to the Integrations page.
- Check that Track Claude Code is on.
- Look at the Reinstall hooks row. If something is wrong, it says what. Choose it to reinstall the hooks.
The messages you might see there:
- “~/.claude/settings.json isn’t valid JSON”: Tenfold left the file untouched. Fix the JSON, then reinstall the hooks.
- “Couldn’t write to ~/.claude/settings.json”: check the file’s permissions.
- “Couldn’t write Tenfold’s helper scripts to Application Support”: check that
~/Library/Application Support/Tenfold/can be written to. - “Couldn’t save your existing status line”: Tenfold left your status line alone, so the model, context, cost and limits won’t show.
If you turned on Track Claude Code while a session was already running, Tenfold missed that session’s start and may not follow it properly. Quit Claude in that tab and run claude --continue to pick the conversation back up.
The usage meter shows no weekly limit
Claude Code only reports rate limits on a Pro or Max plan, and only after Claude’s first reply. With an API key, there’s no weekly window to show. Check too that the Status line switch is on, on the Integrations page in Settings. See Usage and limits.
A change in Settings → Claude Code didn’t take effect
Claude Code reads MCP servers, plugins and most settings when a session starts. Sessions already running keep their old setup until they restart. Use Restart & resume on the banner to restart idle sessions with the same conversation.
Bringing a worktree into main fails
The merge won’t start while the main checkout has uncommitted changes. Commit or stash them first. If git hits a conflict, Tenfold aborts the merge and leaves the main checkout as it was.
⌥Space doesn’t open Tenfold
Another app may already use the shortcut. Open Settings and go to the Keyboard page. If there’s a clash, it says so. Record a different shortcut there. It needs ⌘, ⌥ or ⌃, unless it’s a function key.
⌘B says “Not a git repository”
The Git screen in the notch needs the active session to be in a git repository.
Tenfold says it can’t reach the license server
Your Mac is online, but something is blocking Tenfold’s license server. Check that a firewall, VPN or ad blocker isn’t blocking it. After an hour online without reaching the server, Tenfold locks until it can check in again. See Account and billing.
How do I quit Tenfold?
Use the Tenfold item in the menu bar and choose Quit Tenfold. It works in every state, including when Tenfold is locked. With the Workspace open, ⌘Q works too.
Does Tenfold cost extra Claude usage?
No. Agents run on your own Claude plan or API key, exactly as they would in a terminal. The usage screen shows costs as the API equivalent, which is not a bill.
Is Tenfold made by Anthropic?
No. Tenfold is an independent app for Claude Code. Claude and Claude Code are trademarks of Anthropic.
How do I remove Tenfold’s hooks?
Open Settings, go to the Integrations page, and choose Uninstall integration. Do this before you delete the app. See What Tenfold changes.
