The notch is Tenfold at its smallest. It shows what your agents are doing, and when one needs you, its buddy knocks. You can answer right there, or bring the Workspace back.
Three sizes
- At rest, the notch looks almost like the hardware one. With sessions open, it widens a little and shows one colored dot per session. While an agent works, a live activity strip drops below it.
- On hover, it widens into a compact status bar.
- On click, it opens the full panel: a strip of session tabs, the active terminal, and a status bar at the bottom. Drag either bottom corner to resize it.
The panel closes when you move the pointer away, press Esc outside the terminal, or click elsewhere. Press ⌘P to pin it open.
When an agent needs you
When an agent stops for a permission or a question, its buddy hangs under the notch and knocks. Hover the notch and the prompt slides out, so you can answer it without switching windows.
In the panel, ⌘J jumps to the next session that needs you. The sessions grid (⌘G) shows one card per session, and you can answer permissions and questions on the cards too.
What the panel holds
- The launcher, shown when no session is running, or with ⌘T. Pick an agent and a folder to start a session.
- Terminals, one tab per session. Switch with ⌘1 to ⌘9 or ⌃⇥.
- The sessions grid (⌘G).
- Git (⌘B), for the active session’s repository. You can also open it from the branch in the status bar.
- Usage (⌘U) and Settings (⌘,).
Press ⌘/ to see every shortcut the panel has. You can choose what the status bar shows in Settings, on the Status Bar page.
Fold the Workspace into the notch
Press ⌘D in the panel to open the Workspace window. Press ⌘D in the Workspace to fold it back into the Claude Code notch. Closing the Workspace window does the same. Your agents keep working either way, and nothing restarts.
While the Workspace has focus, the notch steps off the screen so it doesn’t sit on the window’s toolbar. It comes back as soon as you switch to another app. While the Workspace is open, the notch’s prompts still answer in place, and clicking the notch brings the window forward.
If you quit with the Workspace open, it opens again the next time you start Tenfold.
Open Tenfold from anywhere
Press ⌥Space in any app to open the notch. Press it again to hide it and go back to the app you were in. If the Workspace is open, the shortcut brings it forward instead.
To change the shortcut, open Settings and go to the Keyboard page. A shortcut needs ⌘, ⌥ or ⌃, unless it’s a function key. If another app already uses it, Tenfold tells you to pick another.
The shortcut is a regular system hotkey, so Tenfold doesn’t need Accessibility access for it.
Macs and displays without a notch
On a Mac or display without a notch, Tenfold draws one at the top of the screen. It works the same way.
The notch sits on your Mac’s built-in display. With no built-in display, it uses your main display. The Workspace is a normal Mac window, so you can put it on any display.
The menu bar item
Tenfold also has an item in the menu bar, with Open Tenfold, Settings…, License & Trial… and Quit Tenfold. It works in every state, including when Tenfold is locked.
